1. Clear Plainsawn contains both leaf and linear grain patterns. Materials are virtually clear with only an occasional small pin knot. Occasional figure may be present.
2. Select Plainsawn contains both leaf and linear grain patterns with knots and other natural character markings throughout. Small to mid-size knots will not be greater than 1 1/2” on their minor axis.
3. Character Plainsawn contains both leaf and linear grain patterns with knots and other natural character markings throughout. There is no limit on natural character markings present, knot frequency or size.
4. Distressed Plainsawn contains both leaf and linear grain patters with knots and other natural character markings throughout without limit. Indentations, nail holes or other distressed markings may be present as well as “Dutchman” patches.
5. Select Quartersawn contains 75% clear material with a minimum of 75% linear grain. Knot size is limited to 1 ½’’ on the minor axis. This was the grade of flooring traditionally used in Colonial America.
6. Perfection Quartersawn contains 100% clear material with a minimum of 90% having a 100% linear grain face. Perfection Quartersawn is the highest grade of flooring we produce.
