Antique White Oak Flooring

Reclaimed Wide Plank Flooring

White oak has been prized for centuries for its great beauty, durability and strength. Historically, it was used extensively for flooring, paneling and timber frames. But, it was also used in daily life for many other important items required by the early Americans, such as furniture, boxes, crates, coffins, timbers, pallets, handles, agricultural tools, and many others. The fact that White Oak`s pores are filled with a fibrous substance called tyloses made it a favorite as a boat building material and for wine barrels. Aging wine in oak barrels infuses the wine with a unique flavor. White oak is exceptionally durable and is one of the woods most often reclaimed and recycled from old buildings and boats. Antique White Oak has a unique color and character that is incredibly beautiful.
