1. Clear Plainsawn Grade contains mixed grain patterns. Materials are virtually free of knots with only an occasional pin knot, 1/2″ or smaller in diameter. Occasional figure may be present in some species.

2. Select Plainsawn Grade contains both leaf and linear grain patterns with knots and other natural character markings. Knots will not be greater than 1 1/2” on their minor axis. Select Grade may also contain small cracks or filled cracks without limit.

3. Character Plainsawn Grade contains mixed grain patterns with knots and other natural character markings throughout without limit. Nail holes, minor cracks, filled cracks or other distressed markings may be present. These are all filled in engineered planks.

4. Distressed Plainsawn contains both leaf and linear grain patters with knots and other natural character markings throughout without limit. Additional surface indentations, nail holes or other distressed markings may be present.

5. Select Quartersawn Grade contains 75% or more clear material with a minimum of 75% straight grain. Knot size is limited to 1 ½’’ on the minor axis. This was the grade of flooring most sought after and traditionally used in Colonial America.

6. Perfection Quartersawn Grade (CVG – Clear Verticle Grain) is the most durable and the highest quality flooring that we produce. These 100% vertical grain planks contain 98% clear material with a beautiful straight grained face.

7. Monster Wide Plank Grade is the perfect way to bring a sense of understated luxury to larger spaces. The generous width and length of such planks alone create an elegant and impressive floor. Monster Planking is always live sawn and thus contains the full array of character markings.

8. Aged Plainsawn Grade is a special grade created by an environmentally friendly aging process. This special aging process gives each plank the look and feel of floors that are already 75 to 100 years old. Aged planks are in the medium brown range all the way through the face.

9. Original Plainsawn Grade contains planks having their original surface wear and color. They may contain mixed grain patterns with knots and other natural character markings throughout without limit. Nail holes, minor cracks or other distressed markings may be present.

10. Original Quartersawn Grade is also available at times by special order in 3.0″ to 5.5″ widths. Please call for availability.
