DOUGLAS FIR FLOORING & MILLWORK

AMERICA'S MOST PLENTIFUL SPECIE

Douglas Fir is available as both an old growth and as a reclaimed specie. It is one of most abundant building materials in the United States. And, it is still available in quite large dimensions. The species is known by a number of common names including Oregon Pine, British Columbian Pine, Red Fir and even Douglastree; however, the U.S. Forest Service settled on Douglas Fir some years ago. Douglas Fir is North America’s most plentiful softwood species, accounting for one fifth of the continent’s total softwood reserves. It is a truly beautiful wood and one of the few that offers wide, clear planks as the rule rather than the exception. Douglas Fir is also one of the few species that offers wide vertical grain planks in quality that can only be considered perfection.

The Joinery Co. produces Wide Plank Fir Flooring in both solid and engineered planks up to 20 inches wide and 24 feet long. Fir is also an ideal specie for producing “Monster Planking”. This product is now being develop by The Joinery Co. It can be as wide as 36 inches and as long as 42 feet in plainsawn plank and up to 12 inches wide and 30 feet long in clear vertical grain.
